I work with pregnant women and see how many women have different strengths of fear of childbirth. This is my personal main enemy, with whom I have been fighting for several years now and with varying success I have won the victory in the form of painless births of my graduates.
On the one hand, fear is a conductor of a person, it stimulates us to search, makes us tear ourselves away from the sofa and improve ourselves, and also forces us to take actions aimed at finding security. But each person finds this security in his own way. Someone is looking for security in themselves. Trying to cope with their emotions, such a person will try to master the knowledge and skills that will help him in the crucial moment. He will strive to get his own potential, able to keep afloat in an unusual situation. Another person will seek the help of a specialist, next to whom it will be possible to feel safe (doctor, dowle) or invite psychological support (husband, mother) to birth, ... security.Only by completing this condition, you can count on a natural soft childbirth.
On the other hand, fear is the most basic cause of pain in childbirth and reliably disrupts normal labor, affecting the hormonal balance and the physiology of childbirth. It is because of fear in childbirth, the level of natural oxytocin decreases, because of it, the mother stops controlling the body and the situation and begins to behave "inadequately". In fact, there is nothing more adequate than the suspension of childbirth in case of danger. No animal will give birth to its young in a situation or in a place where there is a potential threat. Mom will hold the baby for as long as circumstances require. But, unfortunately, in the hospital it is often regarded as a weakness of labor activity and ruthlessly stimulates a completely normal (and even wise) process. And to correct most of these problems, one would need quite a bit - peace, tranquility, comfort and trust.
The clan is controlled by instinct, the subconscious. And subconsciously we are very afraid of hospitals - many are afraid of the walls themselves, equipment, masks and ... shots. In the maternity centers of Europe, the equipment is carefully hidden. And there is only a conscious understanding of what it is, but there is no unconscious animal fear of a rodzal that looks like an operating theater. In our hospitals, fortunately, already equipped with individual labor room. And if you have the opportunity to choose - choose only such conditions. Since the situation when the labor activity stops already in attempts because the woman in childbirth was transferred from the “nest” in which she opened up to the baby and agreed to let her out of herself into the white light, into a completely “unsuitable” for this room that brings her to the horror not so rare. Just as there are cases when the employees of the hospital are trying to scare the woman to listen. Which further strengthens the subconscious, even children's fear of the white bathrobe. You should know that the job description of the maternity ward includes tactful and calm handling of pregnant women and women in childbirth. And if he does not meet those, it can safely be considered prof.neprigodnym. I am ashamed to say, but I still often hear stories about how “the contract doctor brought me to tears” ... This is sad and incomprehensible.
Why does such an imbalance occur? Between the interests, no, not the interests, - the needs of the parturient woman and the medical organization?
Man is a social being. He is guided by the traditions that are adopted at this time, in the locality and in the industry. There was a time when our traditions were very different. Then there was no industrial revolution, people did not think that they were stronger than nature and did not try to compete with it. The human body was considered not just right and worthy, but divine in its essence. The woman who brings children into this world was revered as mother nature, as an ideal, mystical creature with this great innate ability. No one doubted the genius of the miracle in progress, just as now no one dares to assume that the world economy may collapse. This is the same constant as the fact that we, having gone to work, will return home and make soup. No modern person would ever even fear to go to work, cross the street and go in transport, just as our ancestors had no fear of having a child. Then came the moment of a coup on the so-called technocratic model of world perception. The human body (especially the female body) has become increasingly perceived as sinful and wrong. The era of extremes has begun. It was impossible to wash, then sex was forbidden, then help in childbirth and disease ... then they began to help, but within a few years of the "dark Middle Ages" they lost the knowledge and world view that did not allow humanity to die out for thousands of years.
Now we live in an era when having children is considered undervalued. For childbirth are very suspicious, they are considered dangerous, despite the fact that the sources of this danger lie on the surface (they only need to be considered). Despite the huge number of devices and activities, the problems of modern society with childbirth abound. The female body has not changed either since antiquity or in comparison with uncivilized tribes that give birth easily. So what happened to the modern woman?
