From the beginnings to the present day

From the beginnings to the present day

April 8 (March 26, old style) was chosen for the celebration of the Day of Russian animation is not accidental. That day more than a hundred years ago, in 1912, the premiere of the first Russian cartoon was held.

The man who was far from cinematography, the biologist Vladislav Starevich, was the author of the revolutionary animation of the time. And the heroes of the film under the romantic name “The Beautiful Lucanida” were stag beetles depicting medieval knights.

The film was a huge success. The spectators, who had never seen anything like it before, were sure: the author inexplicably managed to train live insects so that they perform completely uncharacteristic actions. In fact, everything was completely wrong, of course. The biologist had to dissect beetles in a special way so that they could become models of animated films.

Subsequently, Starevich took a few more tapes in a similar technique, and then created a unique film “The Night Before Christmas”, in which the acting was combined with a puppet animation.

After the revolution, Starevich left Russia, and for more than a decade the development of domestic animation stopped.

Starevich was considered the ancestor of Russian animation for almost a century. But in 2009, film expert V. Bocharov made a discovery: examining the archives of the choreographer of the Mariinsky Theater Alexander Shiryaev, he found several puppet cartoons created earlier than the tape of Starevich. Simply, they remained unknown to the audience.

Soviet animation began not with children, but with agitation ribbons. It was only in the mid-1930s that the studio “Soyuzdetmultfilm” was created by the government, headed by Alexander Ptushko. After becoming acquainted with the Disney Studios cartoons, domestic animators tried to outperform foreign competitors, and the result was the excellent cartoons made in the years 1945-1960.

In the 1960s, realism went out of fashion, giving way to caricature and various, very often very successful experiments in the field of animation. Grandmothers, grandfathers and parents of today's children grew up precisely on these cartoons - kind, cheerful, raising the best human qualities.

There is something to congratulate Russian animators on April 8, and most of us will agree with this.

Children's psyche: how cartoons affect the development of the child

Children's psyche: how cartoons affect the development of the child

Once upon a time, when the present grandmothers were still small, cartoons could only be seen on TV, and only at certain times. All children threw games and rushed to the nearest TV set for 15-20 minutes to plunge into the magic world of animation.

Now everything is different: a child can watch cartoons for a whole day, if his parents stock up on the appropriate video collection. Though on the TV, even on the computer, even on the tablet, you can spend hours watching your baby’s favorite tapes. But is it worth doing?

Child psychologists are unanimous: not worth it! Moreover, up to 3 years watching cartoons is generally harmful. In babies of the first three years of life, the capacity for perception is not yet sufficiently developed. The child does not perceive the content of the animation tape, for it it is just flashing pictures. Experts of psychological and pedagogical expertise of games and toys even consider that earlier, up to 2 years, familiarizing with the world of animation can cause irreversible changes in the child's psyche. A child of this age is much more useful to play with real toys and other children, to communicate with adults, to get to know the real world, and not the conditional universe of animation.

not able to share the reality and the fairy tale shown on the screen. He believes everything he sees. And if the hero of the cartoon becomes thin, in order to seep through a narrow slot, or is assembled from fragments into its original form, the baby will form erroneous ideas about the world of things and their properties.

How to make cartoons part of parenting: tips for parents

How to make cartoons part of parenting: tips for parents
  • Do not entrust the education of your children to the screen with cartoons. Watching cartoons should be strictly limited. This is especially true of younger children.
  • Carefully select the cartoons your child will watch. They must be age-appropriate, carry an educational moment and contribute to the development of the child.

For example, you should avoid cartoons in which the action develops too quickly, the episodes are rapidly changing. The kid does not have time to catch the thread of the plot and does not assimilate the content. By the way, there are many claims from children's psychologists to the cartoons very popular with children: Spiderman, Winx, Ben Ten.

Undesirable cartoons, in which a lot of aggression, fights and wars. The main character should carry a positive, because children imitate their favorite characters and adopt their behavior.

  • The cartoon must be well voiced, and the characters must speak expressively and correctly.
  • The best time for an animation session is the first half of the day. At bedtime, if you give a kid to watch cartoons, then only calm, not too bright, positive.
  • Do not use cartoons as a magic wand for all occasions. No, even the best animation tapes, will not replace the child to communicate with you, with grandparents, with peers, or replace educational games and activities.

A reasonable, balanced approach to viewing cartoons can turn animated ribbons from mindless entertainment into one of the means.

Yes, and at an older age, parents are better not to leave the child alone with the screen. Mom and dad should give explanations on what is happening in the cartoon, offer a discussion of the heroes of the tape, ask questions that encourage the child to talk and draw conclusions. And do not forget about the time limit view. For children aged 3-4 years, 30-40 minutes per day is enough.
