One of the stages of building a house is the cladding of the facade and interior decoration. Many developers prefer wood materials, among which should be distinguished bevel planken from Siberian larch. Timber differs in simplicity of installation and durability which are connected both with breed of wood, and with a special design of a board.
Plancken can be straight and skewed. The first one is a board with rounded edges, the second one has beveled side faces with a tilt angle of 55-65 in relation to the wide sides. Oblique plank or, as it is also called, rombus can be made of coniferous and hardwood and used for covering walls and ceilings inside the house, as well as for facing the front of the building.
For facades used wider and long boards. Rhombus trim is aesthetically very attractive, visually expands the space and makes the house more comfortable, and the presence of useful enzymes in the wood that are released into the air strengthens the immune system. The house trimmed with wooden cladding becomes warmer in cold weather, and in the heat it retains its saving coolness. The finish itself at any temperature does not heat up and does not cool down, therefore it is pleasant to the touch.
The cross-section of the bevelled planken is a parallelogram with a height of 20-22 mm The width of a rhombus is 115-140 mm, narrow is used for internal work, and wide for external work. The market offers lumber lengths from 2.5 to 6 meters in increments of 0.5 m, so it is easy to choose the optimal size for your own needs.
The process of making a rhombus is multi-stage and consists of several basic positions: sawing logs into dimensional boards, cutting products to size, drying and keeping the blanks indoors.
Depending on the quality of the wood and the place of the cut, the bevelled finishing material is of several varieties: “Extra”, “A”, “B” and “C”. For interior cladding, it is better to choose the highest grade lumber that does not contain visual defects.Products of the “Extra” variety can have a pair of captive knots of the same color as the rest of the surface, so that such defects are not visible against the general background.
When choosing materials for outdoor work, you can save money and buy a category “A” diamond shape, which includes several captive knots, small blind cracks and a slight color change. On the facade, such defects are absolutely invisible, and the strength of the slanting boards of class "A" is not inferior to the strength characteristics of the products "Extra". Lower categories cost less, but have more defects. They can be blue, wormholes, cracks and knots, but there should be no rot and mechanical damage. The materials of categories “B” and “C” are not used for covering houses.
The main field of application of beveled planken is finishing. Timber is used not only for cladding of dwellings, but also of such buildings as sauna, bath, porch, gazebo, balcony, attic, as well as other structures and premises. Rhombus is often used in landscape design, for the construction of fences, the construction of wooden stairs and railings, the manufacture of window sills and door frames.
Let's talk about mounting the rhombus. Before installing the lining, it is necessary to build a crate, which is the basis for attaching the cladding material. The lathing is a framework from a rough timber, which is pretreated with special impregnations that prevent wood rotting.
Oblique plank is attached in an open or hidden way. At the first, the boards are drilled through and screwed to the crate with screws. Hidden installation method involves the use of a special fastener "snake". The caps of the screws are invisible in this case, and the skin looks more aesthetic.
For the manufacture of rombus used several wood species The most running - spruce, pine, oak, aspen and Siberian larch. Larch materials have balanced characteristics and are in the highest demand. It is possible to choose oblique planken from Siberian larch on the site of the lumber producer. How to make an order is described in detail in the appropriate section. The cost and technical characteristics of the rombus are shown in the table.
Siberian larch is a unique breed. Larch timber is not inferior in strength to oak, but it is easier to process and therefore cost less. Siberian larch is not afraid of moisture, cold, heat and temperature extremes.
